Created thirty years ago by Éric Saint Chaffray, this piece still holds pride of place on the family table.More than just a decorative object, this sculpture has become the heart of the home — a silent witness to shared meals, laughter, conversations, and meaningful moments.
The years pass, but the creative drive remains strong. Éric and his son Colin join forces, founding a creative workshop together. In 2025, a new idea takes shape: to revive the Chicken and transform it into an ambitious project —
a contemporary reedition and the creation of an entire collection of art objects designed to elevate the table.
This project has a name — that of the grandson: Ferdie.
A nod to heritage, to the future, and to the creativity that is reinvented from one generation to the next.
Ferdie is not just a brand. It’s a family story.
A story of emotion, art, and legacy.

It all starts with a strong artistic intention, an idea that diverts, reinterprets or enhances a form from a universal vocabulary. Then comes the work of the material; definition of shapes, molding, retouching and finally manual application of gold or silver leaf. Precise, controlled, almost choreographic gestures.
It is this permanent dialogue between old and new, between artisanal know-how and experimentation, that shapes our identity.
At Ferdie, we respect gestures, but we are not afraid to shake them up a bit.
